Janet Bruce & Cassie Vallance (Directors) 

Janet 

Janet graduated from East 15 Acting School in 2006; her first acting job was a national tour with Box Clever, it was there she fell in love with children’s theatre. Janet then went on to work with Badac Theatre Company and was nominated for several awards including The Stage’s Best Actress Award for her performance in The Factory
Whilst living in London, Janet performed Sweeney Todd in the West End and was part of the remembrance performances at Westminster Abbey
 
Janet has a great passion for Street Theatre and was grateful to be part of the collaboration team for The Rugby World Cup and London 2012 Olympics
Janet then took a break from acting to spend several years touring the world. In 2016, she moved to York with her partner and they now have two young boys. She loves being immersed in the world of creative play, taking photographs and drinking tea. 

Cassie 

Cassie trained at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Acting in 2003. 
 
Soon afterwards she moved to London where she was part of Company of Shadows; a group that created sight specific immersive community lead shows. She has also worked with The Royal Opera House creating site specific community theatre. She co-created Barren, a one woman piece that received the special prize for merit at the LOST One Act Theatre Festival
She has performed on numerous family shows including Stickman in the West End with Scamp Theatre, The Storm Whale at York Theatre Royal and Teddy Bears’ Picnic both with Engine House Theatre; the latter she co-created as part of the Park Bench Theatre season held at Rowntree Park. Cassie was also part of a phenomenal company at Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre, where she performed in Hamlet and Twelfth Night
Her television credits include Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Brassic, The Syndicate, Hollyoaks
 
Cassie moved up from London in 2015 with her partner and is so pleased to have made York home. There have been some incredible experiences along the way, including becoming a mum to 2 boys, setting up a business and discovering Yorkshire pudding wraps.
